At Bella Daycare, we believe in a holistic approach to care. Your children will learn Italian in our Bilingual setting. We care for your child’s mind with learning activities, fuel their body with healthy organic food, and encourage their zest for life by recognizing their individuality and helping to build self-confidence. We never try to be replacements for parents. We see ourselves as your partners in their care. We provide a loving, nurturing, fun, and safe environment for your child.

CHILD SAFETY
Our home is a safe and sanitary environment for your child. We make sure that the home is cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis, the toys are wiped down and sanitized daily and the kitchen and food preparation area is is always clean and hygienic.

Our home is equipped with safety gates, electric outlet covers, fire extinguishers and other childproof items. Your child can explore in safe surroundings.
DISCIPLINE
Corporal punishment and harsh words are not part of the philosophy of Bella Daycare and are not in compliance with a child’s Personal Rights. Such techniques offer models of behavior that we do not believe should be fostered in children.
Discipline means guidance in the form of helping children change undesirable behavior into more acceptable, satisfying behavior. Guidance is a process. It is our policy that discipline be in the form of guidance that improves, strengthens, molds and helps a child. For that to happen we must have consistent guidelines for the child/ren to follow, give positive re-enforcement, provide acceptable choices, set realistic limits, encourage a child to express feelings with words when they are able to, use consequences that age-appropriate and related to the behavior, and listen carefully to what our child/ren are trying to communicate to us. We will use time outs if other avenues have been used and have not worked.
OUR STAFF
Luna Pecoraro is the owner of Bella Daycare, San Diego’s Italian/ English home daycare. After seeing what was available for childcare in San Diego, Luna decided that the best care for her child would be in her own home. Her love for children and learning inspired her to open Bella Daycare. Being Italian, she wanted to bring the warm, nurturing atmosphere centered around family to San Diego.
Luna received her doctorate degree in sociology from the University of Urbino, Italy. She was also the recipient of a scholarship to work with autistic children in 1999. Luna also holds a degree in Massage Therapy from Spa Luna Holistic School in Hawaii and was the owner of Nicaragua’s Premier Day Spa, Luna Bella Day Spa, in 2006.
Luna is very health-oriented and believes in a healthy and organic diet. She is a triathlete and passionate about fitness.
